Raw Material Storage and Mixing

The process starts in the raw material holding area, where we store acrylic resin, aluminum trihydrate (ATH), pigments, and additives in climate-controlled silos and drums. ATH content in our solid surface formula runs 60–65% by weight — that's the industry standard range for acrylic solid surface. The ATH is pre-screened for particle size consistency before it enters the mix. The mixing room houses two high-shear dispersion mixers, each with 500-liter capacity. The operator follows a batch ticket that specifies exact ratios for the target color. Every batch gets a sample cast and cured before full production runs — that's a 90-minute check that prevents 2,000 pounds of off-color material.

What a US buyer should know: we use the same ATH grade as major solid surface brands. The particle size distribution is controlled to 2–5 microns. That's what gives the finished sheet its smooth finish and consistent sanding behavior.

Casting Line and Curing Tunnel

The mixed slurry moves by enclosed pipe to the casting station. Our continuous casting line runs at adjustable speed — typical line speed is 3–4 feet per minute, adjustable based on sheet thickness. The slurry gets deposited onto a moving carrier film, a doctor blade spreads it to the target thickness, the sheet passes under a pre-gel zone (warm air, 80–90°F), a second carrier film is applied on top, and the sandwiched sheet enters the curing tunnel. Thickness control at this stage is critical. The doctor blade gap is set to the target thickness plus 15% to account for polymerization shrinkage. A laser gauge measures wet thickness and auto-corrects the blade gap 50 times per second.

Then the chemistry happens. The sheet travels through a 120-foot curing tunnel divided into six temperature zones — zones 1–2 at 90–100°F for initiation, zones 3–4 at 140–160°F for the polymerization peak, zones 5–6 at 100–80°F for cool-down. Total residence time: 60–90 minutes depending on thickness. Temperature is monitored by 24 thermocouples reporting to a PLC that adjusts heater output. If zone 4 drifts more than 5°F from setpoint, an alarm sounds.

Our dual-head sanding line runs sheets through two sequential belts: first pass at 120-grit for material removal and surface flattening, second pass at 240-grit for finish smoothing. Sanding pressure is adjustable, and vacuum hold-down keeps sheets flat. The whole line runs at 6–8 feet per minute. For textured finishes (teak, slate, brushed), we swap to patterned sanding rollers or hand-finish in a separate station. Depth of sanding removal: 0.3–0.5 mm per side. That's enough to remove any surface irregularities while maintaining the target thickness tolerance.

QC Hold Area and Final Inspection

Every sanded sheet goes to a QC staging area before moving to final inspection. They rest horizontally for 24 hours — this allows any latent warping to appear before final QC. Sheets that pass 24-hour flatness inspection move to the final check. The 18-point QC check happens here. Key test station equipment includes a digital thickness gauge for 5-point measurement per sheet, a spectrophotometer for color measurement against master standard (Delta E ≤ 1.0), a light box for backlit inspection of pinholes and inclusions, a flatness table with feeler gauges, and a hardness durometer. Reject rate runs 3–5%. Rejects are ground for recycled content or disposed.

Packaging and Capacity

Approved sheets are stacked with interleaving paper, wrapped in polyethylene, and crated for export. Standard pack quantities: 25 sheets per crate for 6mm, 15 for 12mm, 10 for 19mm. Crates are labeled with production batch number, color code, thickness, quantity, and date. The warehouse holds 30+ days of finished goods inventory for stock colors. Custom color product ships within 20–30 days of sample approval. Wiselink runs two shifts per day, five days per week, with Saturday overtime as needed. Monthly output averages 65,000–70,000 sheets across all thicknesses.
